Carol and I are at the Outer Banks at the Baptist Conference Center at Ft. Caswell just below Wilmington. I must say it is one of the prettiest places on water that I have been to. The maintenance team has a lot of buildings to look after but they are in outstanding condition. The conference ground used to be a coastal fort used by the the confederates, the yankees, and then the coastal defense folks during the first world war. So the old batteries, and other out buildings making up the fort.
Now I like history and I like walking on the beach but it is hard to decompress. Are you like that? I feel guilty or I find myself thinking of stuff needing done...but I have been forcing myself to be in the moment and relax. Carol and I have a book we are reading and discussing together...and we discuss life...kids, grandkids, her family, my family, our church family, etc.
All marrieds need to develop a plan for quality time together to enjoy each other, and just converse about life together. It helps keep Carol and me connected to each other. Find some time to slow down and connect with your spouse, or a great friend. It has to be intentional and planned or it will never take place.
Hope you have a great week- Pat
Amen!
